This new addition to AMO for members only is a chance to hear your voice, understand who you are, and focus on the 2021 race plan. In a sense, each AMO member is a sponsor of what AMO does. We’re constantly trying to find more support, find sponsors, money, prizes, and whatever I can to enhance the experience for the member. By doing that we sometimes forget the member is the biggest supporter.

Without racers and the families that support them, AMO, facilities/tracks, shops, manufacturers, and more wouldn’t be able to survive. So this FOCUS idea is for the member to just share some fun, answer some questions, promote their sponsors, and allow all of us to get a little more personalized to each AMO member.

Thank you to each member as we head into the 2021 season.

AMO – Focus: Chad Henderson

Hey there. Thanks for the outreach! My name is Chad Henderson and I turned 30 on January 15th. I’m currently riding a CRF 450 with plate number 55, but am looking to hop on a husky for the “21 season. Coming in to the 30B class this season, I have high hopes to push for a top 5 season. Being my first planned full season of racing in many years, I will have a lot to learn from weekend to weekend! That being said, I have been working since 2014 independently to progress to the level I’m at now.

I have many favorite racers as I have been intrigued with the sport since the age of 4. Kyle Keast being one of my all-time favorites, always having the determination to push hard from start to finish. That and being a genuinely great person off the track!

It doesn’t take long to decipher how I’d act on finding a wallet. From picking a kid up on the track to directing someone you’ve never met to help their weekend experience, you put the extra effort out to find and return the property to its rightful owner.

My first and only transcan championship event was in 1998. I rode a ktm 50cc and wound up just shy of the top 10. Being the youngest of four, I spent a handful of years watching my older brothers race the transcan event until we got out of the sport in 2000 for a while.

I have 2 older brothers who no longer race bikes, but love the sport and continue to ride for leisure.

Making changes to the sport of motocross is a tough topic! Getting out and signing up for a couple of the 2020 Walton races last season was such an eye-opener to see the work that has been put in from people who have been with the sport for so long. The passion behind every person working to keep us racing is phenomenal and has been an absolute inspiration to become more involved with the racing community!   I have no sponsors for the 2021 season. I will have support from my wife to be, and 2 little girls! I’m keen to get out to each event this season
