AMO – Focus: Spencer Ough AMO Racing March 5, 2021 Racing This new addition to AMO for members only is a chance to hear your voice, understand who you are, and focus on the 2021 race plan. In a sense, each AMO member is a sponsor of what AMO does. We’re constantly trying to find more support, find sponsors, money, prizes, and whatever I can to enhance the experience for the member. By doing that we sometimes forget the member is the biggest supporter. Without racers and the families that support them, AMO, facilities/racks, shops, manufacturers, and more wouldn’t be able to survive. So this FOCUS idea is for the member to just share some fun, answer some questions, promote their sponsors, and allow all of us to get a little more personalized to each AMO member. Thank you to each member as we head into the 2021 season. Presented to you by How do we stay small and sell big? It’s simple: years of experience. At Xtreme Toys, our mission is to offer you the latest in parts and products at the best prices, and with unparalleled service. We pledge to use our best efforts to make your experience both beneficial and enjoyable. Once you give us a try, we’re sure you’ll be back for more! https://www.xtremetoys.ca/ This weeks FOCUS AMO Member is – Spencer Ough 1. Where are you from and your birthdate? -I’m from Midhurst Ontario, born July 3rd, 1997 2. What bike do you race and what’s your race #? -Orillia motorsports Honda CRF250R #221 3. What are your goals for 2021 in the AMO Series -My #1 goal is to have fun doing what I love to do, and that’s riding my dirtbike. From a competitive standpoint, I would like to be competitive in the pro classes and try to learn from some of those top guys. You can learn a lot from being around those faster dudes. 4. Who is your favorite Canadian Racer? – It’s kinda funny because he’s a close friend, but I’d have to say Sam Gaynor. He’s been through a lot and always come out with a smile on his face and is a class act around the track, not to mention he makes me look silly when we ride together. 5. If you found a wallet at the track with $100 inside what would you do with it? – Honestly, I would keep it for later for fuel or food hahaha, privateer van life. 6. What is your favorite AMO track or any other track? – I’d have to say Motopark. It’s my second home and the whole MPA crew is so solid and they always have the track dialed. I definitely ride that place really well too. 7. Have you ever raced the Walton Transcan Grand National championship? If yes, how did it go and how was your experience? -I’ve raced a couple transcans. I’ve honestly never had it go well. I don’t know if it’s the pressure or what. Definitely a mental thing, it always shows in my riding. It’s a super sick & well run event, I’d recommend it to anyone. 8. How many in your family race? – just myself, solo program here. 9. If there was one thing you could change about the sport of motocross, what would that be? – oh man there’s a couple things I could go on about but I’ll keep it short. I think there needs to be a way to tighten the gap between privateers and factory guys. I don’t know what that change would be, but whether it comes to resources, money, training opportunities, the gap is huge. I feel like tightening that gap would make it beneficial/ more exciting as a racer, and as a fan. 10. Who are your 2021 sponsor Orillia Motorsports provides me with some awesome bikes and makes this thing happen. True North Motorsports, MPA, Motopark, Fox Canada, Ryno power Canada, Ride engineering, Works connection, OGS optics, MD Distributions, and all the people that help out behind the scenes!
