We are just under 80 days till we go racing with AMO. With the “blah” of January now in the rearview, the positive climb towards gate drops gets that much closer. I’m seeing a few AMO family members loading up, heading for the sun and dirt while some are already there. To say I’m jealous of you all is an understatement. Have fun and enjoy!

During the winter month, I sit down with the AMO team and update the rulebook from previous years so we all get on the same page early. Here is what is updated for 2024:

·         65B *** Racers that are first or second-year racers are Eligible. Racers with 50cc experience of three or more years are not eligible** Any racer placing in the top 10 in 50 7-8 or 50 GP/Open 4-8 of the current year’s final OPC points automatically get moved up. NEW for 2024 65B Racers are allowed to race ECAN or Walton Raceway Grand National TransCan in their 65 age class if the class has space (65B racers DO NOT COLLECT ANQ POINTS AT AMO EVENTS). No matter the finish they are automatically moved up at year’s end. Any racer who does choose to take advantage of this rule is allowed to finish their current year in the OPC championship series. If a 65B racer wants to race the equivalent age class at an AMO event, they void their “B” status.

·         Only AMO Event Rules – A Rider must cross the finish line at least once to be able to be scored. If the class does not have enough racers to pay points paying positions the racer will only earn 1 series point, not the last place position in the race. IE – If the class has only 7 entries and the racer crosses the line once, they will not get 7th place paying points. They will receive just one point.

AT AMO Events a racer may race a second bike or borrowed bike for Moto

These are just a few updates for 2024. The entire 2024 AMO Rulebook has been posted on amoracing.com HERE

A few things are still to come:

  • Class list for Stoco Lodge Events. It will NOT be a full AMO class list and just ONE-DAY EVENTS.
  • The Saturday Evening Entertainment. We have many ideas and thank you to those that shared a few. Our goal is always to create a fun atmosphere for all. A Huge Thanks to Central Huron Insulation for the partnership for these events.
